Never Skip These 7 Areas When Spring Cleaning!

There are so many things you need to keep in mind when spring cleaning your home – small areas and items which might not look like a big deal but are crucial when looking at the big picture. This is why I want to share a list of all areas most people skip when deep cleaning their homes so that you can focus on them!

Your Trash Can

Yes, you probably use a garbage bag which is why you don’t think cleaning your trash can is that important, however, the bag still leaks which is why your trash can smells bad.

This is why you need to include cleaning your trash can in your spring cleaning checklist! I like using a disinfectant so I know that not only is my trash can clean but free of any germs as well!

Your Shower Head

Do you intend to skip cleaning your shower head? Don’t! There is so much build-up, dirt, soap scum, and impurities there that need to be removed at some point.

Thankfully, there is an amazing hack that will save you a ton of time and effort (you have probably heard of it). Fill a bag with vinegar, submerge your shower head in there and leave it overnight. Then, the next morning, simply rinse the showerhead.

Handles/ doorknobs

Now, more than ever, disinfecting all handles, doorknobs, remote controls, light switches, and other areas you touch very frequently has been a crucial part of cleaning.

This is why you shouldn’t skip on this chore because all of those areas are breeding grounds for germs.

Your Cleaning Tools

All mops, sponges, cloths, brooms, and other cleaning tools you use need to be deep cleaned this spring because you can’t really clean your home with dirty supplies. If you do that then you are simply spreading more dirt and germs in your home.

And do not forget to clean your vacuum cleaner as well!

Your Upholstery

Cleaning your upholstery is never an easy task which is why many people tend to skip it when spring cleaning. But if you could see the amount of dirt, dust, germs, and other impurities that are hiding in your sofa and mattress you would immediately get to cleaning.

Of course, one of the best ways to do that is by using a steam cleaner but not many people have them. If you don’t you can always contact a cleaning company.

Your Small Appliances

Everyone focuses on cleaning their oven and fridge when spring cleaning but how many people pay attention to their smaller appliances – the coffee maker, the toaster, the microwave, etc.

Promise yourself that this spring cleaning you will focus on all appliances – not only the big ones!

Your Pillows

When was the last time you washed your pillows? Probably when you first bought them. But similar to cleaning your upholstery, your pillows need to be taken care of as well.

They also absorb a lot of dirt, dust, body-liquids and germs so make sure you throw them in your washing machine this spring – especially if you have allergies!
